What is the purpose of the Women’s Recovery Workshop?

The purpose of the Women’s Recovery Workshop is to offer an opportunity for women in any 12-step program to gather and share their recovery with each other, learn more about the steps and how to apply the principles in their daily lives. This is not a workshop led by mental health professionals. All of our workshop leaders and speakers are simply members of a 12 step program sharing experience, strength and hope.

What is the agenda?

Registration opens Friday afternoon at 4:00PM.
We have 4 meetings for all:
Friday PM – Learning to rely on Women
Saturday AM – 4-Women Panel on the 12-Steps
Saturday PM – A Story of Recovery
Sunday AM – Spirituality

We have optional workshops Saturday morning after the 12-Step Panel and Saturday afternoon after lunch on topics such as: Sponsorship, The Principles, Al-Anon, etc…

There is a beautiful lake and great fishing. (GA fishing licensee IS required)

We have a bonfire on Friday night and Saturday night is open for Club Sober dance/karoke, a movie, a drum circle or for meeting with your sponsor. The last meeting Sunday morning ends at around noon.

It will be held for you until the workshop date. When there is a cancellation the first person on the list is notified by phone of the available opening. If no opening becomes available you can decide to have your money returned or applied to the October 11-13, 2019 workshop.  Bottom bunks go fast.  We cannot open another cabin just to accommodate bottom bunks so please register today and reserve your space by paying half down now.

Tell me about the lodging?

Many of your cell phones will not work at Rock Eagle.  We do have wifi and you can set your phone to Wifi calling to make calls. There is also a TV and DVD player in each cabin.  Feel free to bring dvds to share in your cabin. Please be aware of those sleeping if shown at night.

Your cabin has 6 rooms and will accommodate 22 people. Each room has it’s own private bath. There are 4 women to a room except the front room which only has space for 2 people. This room is reserved for special needs cases. We do have a cabin with a handicap ramp, however it does go slightly uphill. There are a few steps to get into that cabin. Keep this in mind for people with disabilities.  If you have further questions about the handicap facilities please use the contact link for help.

Our cabins are on  the lake and sitting on your front porch provides a beautiful serene view. Rock Eagle is a great place to do 5th steps, private time with your sponsor or sponsees. You won’t find a better retreat location.
