WRW – FAQs
What is the purpose of the Women’s Recovery Workshop?
The purpose of the Women’s Recovery Workshop is to offer an opportunity for women in any 12-step program to gather and share their recovery with each other, learn more about the steps and how to apply the principles in their daily lives. This is not a workshop led by mental health professionals. All of our workshop leaders and speakers are simply members of a 12 step program sharing experience, strength and hope.

We have a bonfire on Friday night and Saturday night is open for Club Sober dance/karoke, a movie, a drum circle or for meeting with your sponsor. The last meeting Sunday morning ends at around noon.
What is the WRW Scholarship Fund?
A fund to assist the woman who is unable to pay the full registration fee. We provide a lifetime maximum of two (2) scholarships per woman. One initial and one hardship scholarship. All scholarship applicants are asked to contribute as much as possible toward the full registration fee and the scholarship fund pays the balance. There are only a set number of scholarships available for each workshop.
How do I apply for a WRW Scholarship?
It is simple! Click here to be taken to the application page. Fill it out and click submit. We will contact you shortly. DO NOT have a friend or your sponsor complete the application for you for you. You MUST do it yourself.
Attendance at our workshop MUST be voluntary.
All GROUP TYPE requests for women in half-way houses or other types of treatment facilities must go through the Scholarship Committee Chairperson: Linda D. Each woman MUST request her own scholarship. Attendance at our workshop MUST be voluntary.
IF YOU REGISTER WITH AN APPROVED SCHOLARSHIP AND YOU FIND YOU CANNOT ATTEND YOU MUST NOTIFY US OF YOUR CANCELLATION BEFORE THE WORKSHOP OR YOU WILL LOSE THAT SCHOLARSHIP – MEANING IT WILL BE COUNTED AS A USED SCHOLARSHIP EVEN THOUGH YOU WERE NOT THERE.
How do I register?
How can I be sure I get to share a room with my friend?
You must mail your registrations in the same envelope. Up to 8 women in a room. Up to 18 women in a cabin. The group conscience of WRW has decided that all beds will be preassigned. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO SWITCH CABINS.
We have to know where you are if we need to find you in case you get an emergency phone call.
What does the registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers lodging and (5) cafeteria style meals. Coffee, tea, and some snacks are also provided free of charge. If you have special dietary needs you must provide these items yourself.
Will I get a confirmation?
To cut down on cost we do not mail confirmations. If you pay online you will receive an email confirmation. Your registration is not complete until you make a payment.
What happens when you reach the registration deadline?
When the registration deadline is reached your registration along with your check or money order will be returned to you. Your name will be added to a waiting list. When there is a cancellation the first person on the list is notified by phone of the available opening. If they choose to attend they will pay the full registration fee upon arrival. If they decline to attend the next person on the list is notified.
